CONWAY, Ark. (AP) Khaleem Bennett had 21 points on 8-of-11 shooting and DeAndre Jones scored 17 to help Central Arkansas beat D-III Hendrix 99-73 on Thursday night.
Thatch Unruh added 13 points and 11 rebounds and Hayden Koval scored 12 for Central Arkansas (1-1).
Seth Stanley scored 13 points in the first 13 minutes and Jack Eaton's free throw trimmed the Warriors' deficit to 28-24 with 7:15 left in the first half. Unruh converted a 3-point play and then made a layup to cap an 11-4 spurt that gave the Bears a 12-point lead about five minutes later. Hendrix trailed by at least nine the rest of the way.
Jones hit a 3-pointer and then assisted on a dunk by Koval before Bennett's layup gave Central Arkansas a 20-point lead with 9:38 to play.
Stanley finished with 16 points, including three 3s, and Alex Conrad scored 12 for the Warriors.
